Overview

Where the housings are sound and only the rotating side is worn or damaged, replacing the cartridge costs less than a complete unit and preserves the original housings, mounting dimensions and pipework connections.
The turbine wheel is a nickel-base heat-resistant alloy and the compressor wheel aluminium; the rotating assembly is dynamically balanced, with journal bearings and seal rings. Before assembly, check that the original housing gas passages, bearing bore and mating faces are undamaged — a scored or distorted housing will cause a new cartridge to fail early.
Every cartridge is checked before dispatch, with production and lot traceability under IATF 16949.
